How Work2Survive Fantasy F1 works

🏆

Race Scoring

Each player picks 2 drivers + 1 constructor per race. Points are the official F1 points for each pick — driver finish positions + constructor finish positions combined.

Example

You pick Verstappen (P1 = 25pts) + Norris (P3 = 15pts) + McLaren (P1+P3 = 43pts). Your total: 25 + 15 + 43 = 83 pts.

🏃

Sprint Weekends

Sprint weekends have separate picks for the sprint and the main race. Sprint points use the official F1 sprint points scale (8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1). Sprint picks draw from the same token bank as your main race picks.

Example

Norris P2 sprint → +7. McLaren drivers finish P1 + P3 in sprint → 8 + 6 = 14 pts for the constructor.

🔄

Swap Tokens

You earn 1 token each race. You can bank up to 2 unused tokens (so you can hold a maximum of 3 heading into any race). Each pick you change costs 1 token — change 1 driver, that's 1 token; change both drivers and your constructor, that's 3 tokens.

Example

You have 2 banked + 1 new = 3 tokens. You swap both drivers (2 tokens) and keep your constructor. 1 token left. Next race: earn 1 new → 2 tokens (your 1 remaining rolls over, then you earn 1 more).

😰

Desperation Trade

Any change you make beyond your available tokens costs −10 points each, deducted from your season total. You don't need to be at 0 — if you have 1 token and change 3 picks, 2 of those are desperation trades.

Example

You have 1 token and want to change all 3 picks. 1 token covers the first change. The remaining 2 are desperation trades: −20 pts deducted. The swaps still go through.

🔒

Lock Time

Rosters lock 5 minutes before qualifying starts. Any swaps submitted after lock time are rejected.

Example

Australian GP qualifying at 15:00 UTC → lock at 14:55 UTC. A swap submitted at 14:56 is rejected.

📅

Sprint Weekend Windows

On sprint weekends there are two lock points. Sprint picks lock before sprint qualifying. After the sprint race finishes there is a free change window (no token needed) before the main qualifying lock — this window applies to your main race picks only; sprint picks are already locked.

Example

Miami: sprint quali Friday → sprint lock. Sprint ends Saturday → free window opens for main race picks. Sunday qualifying → main lock. The free window between sprint + main quali costs no token.

🏥

Driver Withdrawal

If a driver you picked is injured or withdraws after lock time and misses the race, you score 0 for that slot. There are no automatic substitutions.

Example

Your driver crashes in FP2 and misses the race — that slot scores 0. The other driver and constructor still score normally.

🍽️

Dinner Line

After each race, standings are updated. The top half of the league eats free; the bottom half splits the bill. With an odd number of players, more players split the bill than eat free. Ties are broken by: most driver race wins, then most constructor podiums.

Example

11 players: top 5 eat free, bottom 6 split the bill. Two players tied on points → whoever has more driver wins keeps their higher rank.

🃏

August Wildcard

Once per season, during the August summer break, you may swap your entire team (both drivers + constructor) for free — no tokens required. This wildcard can only be used once. If you use it in August, it's gone for the rest of the season.

Example

You use your wildcard in August to completely overhaul your team. For the rest of the season you cannot use it again, even if you change your mind.
